Welcome to the Wonderful World of Dog Training!
Our website has a new look, watch carefully over the next couple of weeks to see all of the new classes and upcoming events.
The Obedience Club of Daytona Beach offers weekly instruction classes for students to learn to train puppies, beginners and advanced dogs. We are the only club in the area that includes the new sport of teaching you to "Dance with your dog". We can help you improve your training and develop your capabilities as a dog trainer. You can learn how to teach your dog to respond to your commands.
Our classes help to give you a basic education on how to achieve these goals. The classes are designed to teach how to effectively treat the most common problems in dogs, e.g. housebreaking, manners, nipping, chewing, digging and jumping,
come, sit, stay, and most of all walk on a leash without pulling. Our classes teach you to use positive reinforcement and training methods. The various levels of instruction include a written and illustrated step-by-step lesson
We are a not-for-profit club and all of our instructors are volunteers so that fees may go toward projects. Most of the instructors have earned AKC titles for their dogs, and compete in obedience and agility competitions. They attend dog training and dog related clinics, workshops and seminars to stay on top of the latest positive training methods to better teach you how to improve your skills as a trainer. We have teachers that are certified from (NADOI) National Dog Obedience Instructors.
Please be sure to visit our site to see our upcoming class schedules, trials and events. We include our Chatter-Barks newsletter and photos from past events. You can also download an application for classes.
We welcome new members, with or without a dog, to come learn to train dogs and be part of the Obedience Club of Daytona, Inc. You are welcome to observe our classes before registering.
Support our Military Working Dogs!
Note! Since 2008, we have adopted kennels in Iraq and Afghanistan and have supported a kennel in Germany with many requested items. As of September 2015 we are in contact with 3 teams which will be deployed soon and we are standing by for any support items needed. This past cold season requests for Polar Trex booties, Quinzee heat vests, Bivy bowls and Fleece bedding were common items sent for the dogs.
